A FWS Retiree is any person who worked for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service at any point in their career and has now retired, including their spouses or partners. If you were caught up in a reorganization, retired from another agency, or took on a second career, but still consider yourself part of the FWS family, you are an eligible FWS Retiree. Among these are colleagues that were formerly in Research, Animal Damage Control, or certain National Fish Hatcheries transferred to State operation.
If you are a current employee of the FWS you are also welcome to join as a regular member before you retire, though you will not be able to vote or hold office in the Association until you retire.
In addition, any person who has retired and has an interest in the mission of the Association may join as an Associate Member. Associate members must pay dues upon joining (no "First Year Free"). Associate members are not eligible to vote, hold office or participate in directing the activities and operations of the Association. Associate members who fail to pay dues will be removed from the membership rolls at the end of the calendar year when their dues become delinquent.
