Dear Prospective Garba/Raas Team,
The Charm City Raas 2016 board would like to thank you for your interest in participating in Baltimore’s premiere Garba-Raas competition! The CCR Board consists of UMBC Raascals alumni who have traveled the nation and competed at many competitions throughout their raas careers. We assure you that we will bring our knowledge of Garba-Raas as well as the best of all the competitions together to create an extraordinary weekend for all of the participating teams. The competition will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Kraushaar Auditorium in Baltimore, MD.
In this form, you will find everything you need to know about applying to CCR including crucial deadlines and important guidelines for the audition video. We have also included a checklist to help you complete the application process in an organized and a timely manner. All teams will be required to complete this application packet for consideration into the final CCR line-up.
To qualify for EARLY application, each team must pay a nonrefundable application fee of $35.00 and submit an audition video with completed application form by November 5, 2015 11:59pm EST. All materials received between November 6, 2015 and November 12, 2015 11:59 pm EST will be considered for REGULAR application and will require a $40.00 nonrefundable application fee along with the application form and audition video. However, turning in the application packet early or on time does not affect your potential to be a part of the competition. We will only look at all the applications (early and regular) after the regular due date, allowing all teams an equal opportunity to be selected. If you choose to submit your application past the final due date of November 12, 2015, you will be charged a $5 late fee for every day after the final due date. Turning in your application late will affect your potential to be a part of our final line up. If chosen, competing teams will receive a registration packet which will specifically outline further deadlines, rules, and details of the competition weekend.
