Casablanca Kuvasz Questionnaire

Thank you for your interest in a dog from Casablanca. We hope you will be able to come and visit our home in Northridge, California and visit with the dogs and us. Until then, your answers to the following questions will help us get to know you and find the dog best suited for your family, or even IF a kuvasz is a good match for your lifestyle. Please answer as fully as you can and add any additional information to help us get to know you and your home. There are no wrong answers. We want to match the personality of the puppy to the experience and energy level of the family it will be joining. It's very possible at this point in your life a kuvasz doesn't fit in, it doesn't mean you can never own a kuvasz, it only means when you are looking for a new place to live, or when your children are older, you will know what things you need to keep in mind so that you will be able to add a kuvasz to your family. Your research should include sending inquiries to other breeders and I've prepared a work sheet of questions you should find helpful. I'm glad to email it to you on request. We are also happy to help by evaluating your current situation and making suggestions on what type of property would make a good "kuvasz puppy proof" home. If you would kindly let us know on this questionnaire that you are doing research for a dog at some future time, we will be more than happy to work with you by letting you know when our puppies will be gone and when it will be a good time to talk.

What is the size of the yard that the dog will be allowed in?

Could someone walking down the street or driveway put his hand through your fence or gate and reach your dog? How about his fingers or a stick?

Can others (workers, meter readers, friends) get into your yard without your knowledge?

How many hours on a typical day would the dog be alone?

Do your neighbors mind a barking dog? What if the dog is barking at 3am at nothing more than a leaf making a strange shadow?

If you rent, do you have your landlord’s permission to have a dog?

We take our time commitment to our soon-to-be owners and of course our longtime owners very seriously and we have unfortunately been misled by kuvasz shoppers so that now we need to make our availability during "puppy time" very clear. If you are not prepared to enter into a legal agreement and place a deposit after you are approved by us, your application will be moved to our "just doing research" file and we will contact you when we have no puppy buyers who need our attention. Your answer to the following question shows you understand the limitations on the time we can spend with you by phone, email, or in person if you are not ready to make a legal commitment this year or next.

If your intention is to buy a kuvasz from us this year or next and you are approved by us , the next step will be signing a reservation contract and placing a deposit that is refundable only if the sex you reserved isn"t available. Are you prepared to make this legal agreement?*
