1. Do you need to update your contact information?
Phone, Email, and Mailing Address can all be important.
2. Is your home titled the same way it is listed on the declarations page of your insurance policy?
Homes put in the name of a trust or other entity should be discussed with us to ensure proper coverage
3. Do you own any land not listed on this policy or insured by another policy?
Your liability limits & personal property limits may not automatically extend to the other location.
4. Have you added any additions onto your home or any outbuildings?
To prevent valuation issues, the Homeowners Dwelling Limit needs to be adjusted to meet this increase.
5. Is your Personal Property limit enough to replace all of your belongings in the event of a total loss? Do you keep any personal property in a self-storage unit?
For most Homeowners policies, this is set at an arbitrary limit (usually 50-70% of dwelling coverage). Personal Property in a self-storage unit is limited to 10% of Personal Property coverage. These limits can be increased.
6. Do you feel the coverage listed on the declarations page is enough to rebuild your home?
Updates to your home can cause the replacement cost of your home to exceed your coverage.
7. Do you use your outbuildings for any business purpose or rent them out to others?
The standard Homeowners policy severely limits coverage for outbuildings used for most business purposes.
8. Do you need flood or earthquake coverage?

9. Have you added a central station alarm to you home?
If so, we can add a credit to your Homeowners Policy.
10. Do you have any kids in college 24 or older?
If living away from home, they are excluded on the NC Homeowners policy. More information about kids in college
11. Do you have any non-family members living with you?
They may be excluded under your policy.
12. Have you received notice that your local fire protection has received an improved insurance protection class rating?
This protection class is based on your local fire department and community water supply. An improved rating can lower your premium. Notify us directly as insurance companies often do not update this automatically.

13. Do you have any jewelry you need to schedule?
The standard Homeowners policy provides $1,500 per theft loss of jewelry. This is not per piece, but max for the entire loss.
14. Do you have any collectibles such as antiques, coin collections or fine arts?
Scheduling these items can broaden coverage and prevent arguments over valuation after a loss.
15. Do you need to increase your limit for firearms?
The NC Homeowners policy provides 10% of your personal property coverage limit (up to $10,000) for theft of firearms.
16. Do you need to increase your limit for silverware?
Your Homeowners policy provides 25% of your personal property coverage limit (up to $10,000) for theft of silverware.
17. Do you keep more than $200 at home?
Your Homeowners policy provides $200 in coverage for money and gift cards. This includes unscheduled coin collections. This coverage may be increased slightly, but it is costly for the amount of coverage provided.
18. Do you do business at home or keep more than $2,500 in property on premises that is primarily used for business?
Your Homeowners policy limits property coverage for items used in business and excludes liability arising out of your business.
19. Do you own any vehicles or trailers not listed on your auto policy?
No coverage is provided for owned autos not listed on your policy.
20. Are your vehicles titled or leased to the same names listed as named insured on the declarations page?
The owner of the vehicle must be listed on the policy to ensure proper coverage.
21. Are all drivers in your home listed on your auto policy?
Insurance companies require a list of all regular drives of your autos.
22. Do you own a golf cart, go-cart, dirt bike, ATV, dune buggy, camper or trailer?
Coverage for these items is very limited unless your policies are properly endorsed. More Information
23. Do any of your vehicles have custom equipment?
Specialized equipment may be subjected to sublimits or excluded.
24. Do you have a company car or a car furnished for your regular use (including vehicles in a company pool)?
The unendorsed NC auto policy excludes coverage for this. More Information
25. Do you own a boat, jet ski or wave runner not covered on a boat policy?
Coverage for these items is very limited on a Homeowners policy. Even for rentals.
