In selecting your building preferences, you will only see those buildings for which you meet the gender and student classification requirements. You are required to select a "first choice". You have the option to select a "second" and "third" choice.
Anderson University operates with a tiered pricing structure for university housing: Tier I through Tier V, with Tier I being the most expensive and Tier V being the least expensive. The housing rates for 2014-2015 are listed below.
Tier I: Village Private Room ($3,105/sem.; $6,210/year)
Tier II: Whitaker Hall or New Boulevard; Denmark ($2,352/sem.; $4,704/year)
Tier III: Clamp; Royce; Gaston; Pratt ($2,300/sem.; $4,600/year)
Tier IV: North Rouse; South Rouse; Village Basement ($2,245/sem.; $4,490/year)
Tier V: Lawton; Kingsley; Stringer; South Rouse Ground Floor ($2,190/sem.; $4,380/year)
Roommate request deadline is May 1st for Fall and December 1st for Spring. If you do not have a specific roommate request, that is not a problem! Residence Life will work diligently to find the best match for you based on your personal preferences.
All residential students are required to purchase a meal plan option below. Students have until the 3rd day of classes each semester to change their meal plan. Meal plan prices for 2014-2015 are included with the options.
Returning Student Housing Eligibility (excludes NEW students):
Any returning student wishing to select a room or be assigned to a room on campus must complete the three (3) steps below PRIOR to participating in the housing selection process or receiving an assignment from the Residence Life office.
Housing Registration Pre-Payment:
Prior to reserving a room or participating in the annual housing sign up process,
students must pay a $200 housing pre-payment. The payment must be paid in full and cannot be charged to the student account.
This pre-payment is non-refundable (except in the unlikely event that campus housing is unavailable) and will be applied to the fall semester housing charge upon occupancy in August. All housing pre-payments should be made online by visiting the Residence Life homepage. Payment must be in the form of a credit or debit card. (
Complete Housing Agreement:
Students must complete and submit an online Housing Agreement PRIOR to selecting a room or being assigned to a room. Students who have not completed this form will not be allowed to sign up for or be assigned to a room on campus.
Register for Classes:
Returning students must be registered for classes prior to selecting or being assigned to a room for said term. Students not registered will not be allowed to select a room or will not be assigned by the Residence Life staff.
Anderson University requires all undergraduate students enrolled in the traditional program to live on campus for at least four semesters.
After a student has lived on campus four semesters, typically junior year, he or she may choose to live off campus.
Students who meet one of the following criteria may elect to live off campus prior to fulfilling the four semester requirement.
Live locally with a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian.
21 years of age prior to the beginning of the semester.
Anderson University requires all transfer students enrolled in the traditional program to live on campus unless they meet one of the following requirements:
Attended four (4) semesters of college, excluding dual enrollment during high school
Students found to be living off campus that do not meet the proper criteria may be subject to disciplinary action and held financially responsible for the semester housing charge regardless of their current physical residence.
Housing assignments for new students are processed on a "first come, first serve" basis according to the date on which the student’s enrollment deposit was received.
Assignments for returning students will be chosen during the annual housing sign-up process in April.
Returning students who do not participate in the April housing sign-up process will be placed on a waiting list to be assigned as space becomes available.
The Residence Life Office reserves the right to reassign or consolidate residential students at any time if it is found to be in the best interest of the University.
The University also reserves the right to assign students to temporary accommodations in the event that occupancy is exceeded.
This agreementis binding upon signing

Spring Semester Cancellation Policy:
Students that wish to cancel their housing agreement or withdraw from the University during the spring semester must complete the
Housing Agreement Cancellation Form

Prior to the date of financial responsibility (DFR), students are charged a prorated amount for the time in which they are assigned to a room and meal plan. After the DFR (exactly two (2) weeks after the first day of classes), students who withdraw or cancel will be responsible for the full semester of room charges.

Students should make arrangements ahead of time for move in and move out dates and deadlines. Failure to vacate a room by the deadline will result in a $150.00 improper check out fee. While exceptions are rarely made, students who do receive approval for early arrival or extended stay will be subject to a daily charge of $25.00.
Failure of student to occupy his/her assigned campus housing by the first day of classes may result in loss of the assigned space and cancellation fees being applied to his/her account.A student, who plans to arrive after the first day of class, must notify the Residence Life office by the Monday prior to the start of classes.
Termination of Enrollment:
If a student's enrollment at the University is terminated during an academic term, the student must vacate university housing within 48 hours or within 24 hours if the termination is for disciplinary reasons.
